First
American Scientific Corp Receives Purchase Order From Minnesota Valley Alfalfa
Producers for Two KDS Micronex Machines
Friday April
28, 9:00 am ET
VANCOUVER,
BC--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 28, 2006 -- Mr. Brian Nichols, President of First
American Scientific Corp. (FASC) (OTC BB:FASC.OB - News), is pleased to announce
that the Minnesota Valley Alfalfa Producers cooperative has signed a purchase
order to buy 2 KDS Micronex systems which will be become an integral part of
their process to produce nutrient rich "Premium Alfalfa Leaf
Pellets."
MnVAP, www.mnvap.com, a Minnesota farmer-owned
cooperative founded in 1994, was created to process and market alfalfa products
and has emerged as a leading processor of high quality alfalfa products. Alfalfa
Leaf Pellets are currently working their way into the feed ingredient market
and have differentiated themselves as a premium alfalfa product with
nutritional and feed enhancing characteristics unique from other alfalfa
products.
According to MnVAP, with the
economic and environmental impacts of alfalfa already well documented, MnVAP
has embarked upon an aggressive value-added plan for alfalfa processing. This
plan utilizes MnVAP's processing expertise to separate alfalfa leaves and
stems. The resulting product, alfalfa leaf pellets, provides additional
economic benefit to Minnesota farmers.
According to Brian Nichols,
"We have been working closely with MnVAP this year to assist them in
identifying equipment that is the most suitable and economic to enhance their
operations. We are pleased to announce that our KDS Micronex was chosen as the
best for the job. In addition to efficiently reducing particle size, the KDS
will be used to replace existing natural gas dryers resulting in significant
cost savings. Fabrication of the new larger KDS machine will commence
immediately with delivery of the first machine scheduled for 6 weeks."
