First American Scientific to attend Environment Japan 2002 Import Fair in Osaka sponsored by JETRO and BC Trade Mission

VANCOUVER, July 31 /CNW/ - Mr. Brian Nichols, President of FASC, is pleased to announce that, as part of the British Columbia Trade Mission, FASC will exhibit its KDS equipment on October 16 - 19, 2002 in Osaka, Japan at the New Earth 2002 trade fair sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The trade mission includes eleven BC based businesses that will share the BC Pavilion at the trade fair.

The BC Trade and Investment Office has identified Japan as a major market that faces some significant environmental problems. According to a Ministry representative "There are opportunities in soil remediation, recycling and energy technologies, and solid waste management" where our KDS technology can be utilized. We are looking forward to a very positive exposure at the trade show where this year's attendance is expected to exceed last year's 37,400 visitors, including senior executives and decision-makers interested in new environmental technologies.

In preparation for the show, we have invited Enviro 2000, one of our co- exhibitors, to set up their state-of-the-art pelletizer at our Cloverdale demonstration center (please see our website www.fasc.net for pictures) for trial runs and compatibility testing. According to Herb Tobias, CEO of Enviro 2000 Pelletizer Ltd, "...we are convinced that the KDS Micronex is exactly the equipment required to prepare waste material for pelletization.". The two technologies will be presented in unison in Osaka.

Also at Cloverdale, we welcome the receipt of the Shimada Biomass Extruder (heat log fabricator) www.heatloginc.com, which we also believe to be a good fit with our KDS equipment. Preliminary tests indicate that pre- processing of biomass through the KDS enhances bonding which is accomplished by utilizing the natural resins in the biomass. This, and research into a number of compatible applications is ongoing at the Cloverdale site. Results will be posted on our website as they become available.
